After formal legal discussion and consultation, it has been decided that the following archive must be transparent and honest as to its nature. The Stereotype archive was made as a parafictional piece of work by a singular artist parading themselves as a collective. In accordance with the results of recent legal proceedings, as well as in consideration of the many real people who were unknowingly woven into this “collective”, it has been decided that all original text, as well as some artworks, from the Stereotype archive should either be removed, rewritten or redacted.

The artist would like to give context as to the original intentions of the Stereotype Archive:

"In 1986 Rupert Murdoch moved all his newspapers from Fleet Street to Wapping, firing his entire printing workforce after forcing them into industrial action. For over a year the industrial action continued and became known as the “Wapping Dispute”. The Wapping dispute was the beginning of the end for generations of craft and tradition in the printing industry, within only a few years all major UK newspapers moved to newer printing technology, losing thousands of livelihoods as traditional hot lead typesetting died."

"The Stereotype Archive is the online site where research projects into the Wapping Dispute are made available to the public. In its current state the Stereotype Collective is bound by rules forcing it to contain non of its original text and requiring it to be more directly honest to the viewer. We hope that soon the Stereotype Archive can return to its original parafictional state."
